ABOUT ME
I am Ea Marie Ta-asan Torrado. I am a healing artist from the Philippines. I Dance, I make Dances and I make people Dance themselves alive. I am a multidimensional healing artist whose medicine blends the use of body, voice, ritual and storytelling.
A month ago, I was in the middle of channeling work when I received the clear message that I am to create a 3-month course that uses intuitive dancing, singing and storytelling to awaken the goddess consciousness in my clients’ psyche. This is an upleveling in my energy medicine-- I am to midwife women to an inward journey back into their childlike Soul-selves, where they could meet the unique. fully capable and empowered goddess within them.

As a teacher and healer, I have 17 years of professional dance and teaching experience. Coupled with a lion's heart for social justice, I created original contemporary performance rituals that engage both lyrically and viscerally with the politics of identity, society, sexuality, collective rage, grief, spirituality, and healing. I practice reiki and other intuitive healing modalities, and is deeply engaged with the spiritual legacies and practices of the filipina shaman-priestess, or babaylan.
As a dance artist, I was cited as one of the most exciting and sought-after contemporary dancer-choreographers in the Philippines today, I created visceral and evocative works that have been presented in numerous sites and stages in Manila and abroad. Rigorously trained in classical ballet from a young age, I have essayed principal and soloist roles in traditional and contemporary full-length dances and toured extensively in the Philippines and USA, Russia, Scotland, Japan and Cambodia with Ballet Manila and Ballet Philippines,
As choreographer and artistic director, I created the Manila-based dance theatre group, Daloy Dance Company, where I refined my choreographic style by fusing powerful elements of dance, theatre and improvisation. I was awarded the prestigious Alvin Erasga Tolentino Koreograpiya Award (2014), Remedios De Oteyza Award for Choreography (2016) and Asian Cultural Council Grant (2016). I am also a member of World Dance Alliance- Philippines and (ICONS) International Consortium for Advancement in Choreography. In 2015, she was one of the formidable judges for the Association of Ballet Academies of the Philippines Competition.
As a social and cultural worker, I have co-presented Walang Hiya Festival, Sayaw Galaw, Ugnayan Community Porgram and Tanghal at Talakay, all projects that tapped diverse Filipino communities by utilizing dance as a tool for personal and social change. I am the founder of Daloy Movement, a guided and durational free-form healing dance practice originated and developed in the Philippines, that many people find liberating, transformative and healing.
